Hongkong telegram No.41 to Peking repeated to Coloniál

office. Kowloon evictions.

Subject to your concurrence I would propose to reply

to the Waichiaopu in the sense of the last two paragraphs

of Hongkong telegram No.41 to me but omitting reference

to "frequent summonses" and "travelling" regarding which

complaint was made not by Waichiaopu but by Canton Special Delegate for Foreign Affairs in a letter of which

copy is on its way to you.

Addressed to Foreign Office No. 694, repeated to

Hongkong.
